Patient advocacy has remained at the core of how Rita approaches her daily work. At heart, she is a consumer advocate. While at UnitedHealthcare she’s also been responsible for Multicultural marketing, acquisition marketing of the AARP Hospital Indemnity Plans and advancing Operational Excellence.
An Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Physician at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Phillips cares for patients with all types of hematologic malignancies (blood cancers) with a special interest in Latino and Caribbean-Americans.
Dr. Rubin is a clinician and educator with national expertise in systemic lupuserythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune rheumatic conditions. He has participated in dozens of clinical trials. He has published numerous articles, and abstracts. He started two rheumatology fellowships – one in Texas and the other in Michigan, devoting much of his career to educating dozens of young trainees to develop into successful clinicians and academic rheumatologists.
Mamie Robinson Floyd is the Founder of JustConsult, Inc., and currently serves as a Federal Grant Reviewer and Program Technical Assistant for various Federal Agencies. Also, consults start-up non-profits organizations and agencies that serve Public Health and Mental Health communities.
Dr. Brion Randolph specializes in the care of patients with blood cancers with an interest in leukemia, myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplastic syndromes and high-risk multiple myeloma. He joined the faculty at MUSC in the summer of 2018 and has practiced hematology and medical oncology since 2009.
In 2008, the Reverend Dr. Debra Lynn Haggins was named university chaplain and pastor of the historic Memorial Church at Hampton University; the first female to hold this position in the university’s history. As university chaplain, Haggins serves in a dual capacity, as campus minister and as executive secretary of the nationally acclaimed Hampton University Ministers’ Conference-Choir Directors’ & Organists’ Guild Workshop.
